Pour One Out For: Corey Haim 12/23/1971 – 3/10/2010

Set the Way-Back Machine to the mid 1980’s.  Two dudes with the same name, but different flairs for fashion, took the world by force with such films as License to Drive, The Lost Boys, and Dream a Little Dream.  They were best known as “The Two Coreys” (Corey Feldman and Corey Haim), the cinematic tag-team of dashing and dangerous.

Now let’s fast forward to early Wednesday morning.  Corey Haim (shown in the picture above) was found dead of what authorities are calling an apparent drug overdose.

This should come as no surprise to any who have been following Haim’s career for the past few years.  It was painful to see his tragic transformation from teen heartthrob to grown up junkie when watching The Two Coreys (a reality show they did in ’07).  But after some crackerjack investigation, I stumbled across some video that TMZ shot where in Haim claims to be “doing well” and was beginning work on License to Fly.  Wow.  I don’t mean to shit on a dead celeb, but that sounds like a lame idea.  Just putting it out there.

As a planet wide mourning for this teen idol continues, and a pending toxicology report gets done, the only thing left to do is to remember Corey Haim at his best.  So if you happen to be stricken with this epic stomach bug that seems to have come out of no where, like I have been these past few days, wrap yourself up in that Christmas Snuggie you got from mom and settle down for a Haim-athon.  Should you not know who this dude was, check out these trailers from his fantastic films.  You will be glad you got a taste of his awesome.

I would say to watch Lost Boys 2: The Tribe, but we all know how I feel about that one.
