As if Charon wasn’t making enough coin rowing celebs to the gates of Hades last year, he has decided to take another cinematic great along for the 2010 ride. Famed actress/other worldly sorceress Zelda Rubinstein has joined those taken from us and ventured into the light. From PopEater:
-Actress Zelda Rubinstein, who played spirit talker Tangina in Steven Spielberg’s cult 1982 film ‘Poltergeist,’ has passed away. Her agent, Eric Stevens, confirmed she passed away of natural causes at Barlow Respiratory Hospital in Los Angeles on Wednesday, Jan. 27. She was 76-years-old.
What the press won’t tell you, is that she initially left to battle the forces of darkness on their own turf. Her horrible defeat in Poltergeist 3 inspired her to take matters into her own hands.
Personally, if I were an amalgamation of all things evil who reigned supreme in the afterlife, I’d be quite taken aback if Zelda was out to do me in. She has all kinds of crazy little people spells at her disposal.
So long Zelda. At least you outlived that little brat Carol Anne. Maybe she can thank you in person for luring those souls away from her while she was trapped in limbo.
