Heavy Metal Monday: 12/27/09

X-Mas may be over, but that doesn’t mean it’s spirit has left.  There are still a few more days left to jingle some bells, deck a few halls, and share some brotherly/sisterly love with those you care most about.  The only way I know how to do that is with some rocking heavy metal; accompanied by neck wrecking head banging, of course.

A few years ago, Twisted Sister decided to take a page from the book of ManOwaR and released something super-ass wacky.  They took a bunch of well known Christmas songs, ran them through a meat grinder, then mashed them back together creating an album full of yule tide ballads with a sharp metal edge.  Here’s just a small little slice of holiday pie, hand delivered by Dee Snider.

Twisted Sister: Oh Come All Ye Faithful

I’m glad they’re sticking to their old format for videos.  Keeping things lighthearted and cheesy is a talent that seems to have been lost over the years, yet these guys remain strong in their nonsensical way of life.  Maybe other bands will learn a few things from what Twisted Sister has done.  Wouldn’t it be beyond awesome if Iron Maiden did an album entirely of Hanukkah songs?  I can think of quite a few people that would agree with me.
