After many rumors and much anticipation, Wizards Of The Coast has announced the next campaign setting for the 4th Edition of Dungeons & Dragons. A world of barren wastelands, rampant psionics and power hungry sorcerer-kings await us in the treacherous world of Dark Sun:
“This year’s 4th Edition Extravaganza seminar at Gencon, led by Bill Slavicsek, R&D Director for D&D, pulled the cover away to reveal the next big campaign setting that will be released for D&D 4th Edition.
Created by popular demand, this requested setting was saved specifically for now in 4th Edition, and will also feature new novels set in the world of Athas.”
Ever since I read Troy Denning’s Prism Pentad, I have been awaitng the day when the world of Athas would get a proper re-issue. There is only a few short months left in this year, thankfully, so all us D&D freaks are that much closer to adventuring in one of the most dangerous worlds to have ever been created. Dark Sun will be released in 2010, just a few months after Player’s Handbook 3. Oh man, the shit has LITTERALY been nerded out of me.
