Some Geology: Volcano Watch

Mount Redoubt (worst volcano name ever?) located on the Cook Inlet near Anchorage, Alaska is about to explode, or so the geologists think. The volcano has been smoking for a few days now and the Alaska Volcano Observatory has Redoubt listed at Code Orange as of this morning, which according to them means:

The WATCH / ORANGE icon is used when a Volcano is exhibiting heightened or escalating unrest with increased potential of eruption, timeframe uncertain OR an eruption is underway that poses limited hazards including no or minor volcanic-ash emissions.

Sexy. Basically, when this thing blows we could be looking at Pompeii II and we here at Robot Bites Man, as always, will provide the most rigorous and bipartisan coverage of all things Geological on the Net. You can follow the link to the Alaska Volcano Observatory and peep the web cam they have on Redoubt.
