The Wire is considered by many to be the best dramatic series in American television history (including me) and many consider the show’s 4th season to be its finest (including me):
A critic for this paper once declared The Wire “the greatest dramatic series ever produced for television” and as the fourth season gets under way Sunday night, there’s no reason to quibble with that assessment. – Verne Gay Newsday
This season of The Wire will knock the breath out of you. – Virginia Hefferman NYTimes
When television history is written, little else will rival The Wire, a series of such extraordinary depth and ambition that it is, perhaps inevitably, savored only by an appreciative few. – Brian Lowry Variety
The main story in season 4 revolves around the decay of the Baltimore public school system and introduces us to four middle school students: Randy, Namond, Michael, and Duquan “Dukie” Weems, portrayed by actor and singer Jermaine Crawford. Dukie’s story arc through the 4th and 5th seasons is a devastating but inevitable one. For those (fools) who haven’t taken on The Wire yet, I won’t spoil anything (those fools should not watch the clips after the jump), just trust Uncle Oh, Mars and watch it. We here at RBM are honored to have a round of Ten Questions with Crawford.
