Larz’s Comic Pick of the Week: December 10, 2009

Written: Kevin Grevioux
Pencils: Geraldo Borges
Cover: Paul Ballard

Anybody that knows me, knows I’m a huge fan of Zombies. I mean come on…who isn’t? Movies, video games and awesome comic titles like the Walking Dead seem to be all over the place these days. Zombies are the new vampire! Up Yours Tom Cruise! Wading through the hoards of zombie fiction can be tough, since it infects every facet of the media out there today-pun intended, but, this one is actually a true gem. By the way, if you haven’t read Walking Dead you must be living under a rock in some country I can’t spell. Anyway…

Remember the Underworld movie franchise? (There’s a new one coming out soon-Rise of the Lycans) The creator of that series; Kevin Grevioux, has brought his bag of goodies to the zombie genre and spun an awesome yarn called ZMD or Zombies of Mass Destruction. Awesome!
It breaks down like this.  The military uses corpses and reanimates them.  Uncle Sam drops them smack in the middle of a war zone at night and the zombies go house on the locals. (Hopefully enemy combats…) Once the sun rises, the zombies are designed to disintegrate to dust-leaving a pile of dead enemies and no trace of what killed them except ash. The book takes off from the idea that one of the zombies doesn’t die like it is supposed to…Ooops! I don’t want to spoil the rest for you but, jump onto this mini series! The third issue lands this week!
