Scientology Auditing Questions

August 5, 2008

Hello there, may I ask you some questions? You know, just so Scientologists can map your “bad shit.”

• Have you ever debased a nation’s currency?

• Have you ever killed the wrong person?

• Have you ever torn out someone’s tongue?

Green Lantern Movie in Development

August 5, 2008

STATUS – Development
PRODUCER: Donald De Line – Andrew Haas WRITER: Greg Berlanti – Marc Guggenheim – Michael J Green
DC COMICS 1700 Broadway New York, NY 10019
WARNER BROS. PICTURES 4000 Warner Blvd. Burbank, CA 91522-0001

Each sector of space is protected by a Green Lantern, possessing a power ring that uses a powerful green energy to do anything within the limits of the user’s imagination and will power. When the Green Lantern assigned to this sector of space finds himself dying on planet Earth, he tells the ring to find a suitable successor. The chosen replacement, hot-shot test pilot Hal Jordan, finds himself with a new job he never expected.

Pretty dope that they’re making him Silver Age Hal Jordan instead of Guy Gardener of Kyle Rayner. This could be the most sci-fi-ish of all the DC movies thus far; lots of in-space action. Who could play Sinestro? Heath Ledger?

Concept Art for Animated HALO Movie

August 5, 2008

This has nothing to do with the long-rumored Peter Jackson-produced HALO movie. This is going to be an animated feature written by Stuart Beattie (Collateral, GI Joe, 30 Days of Night). It’s being adapted from Eric Nylund’s novel Halo: The Fall of Reach (a prequel to the game series).

Latino Review will be posting a new concept piece every week for the next five weeks, so check back.

Dooku Gets Mugged

August 5, 2008

I can go either way with Mighty Muggs. If they’re based on drab looking characters, then they’re destined to be drab figures. (Lando is the greatest one they have put out yet – he puts such a smile on my face every time I see him). Here’s a look at the Wave 5 coming out in September.

Dooku with little Force Lightning and that trademark scowl? So fucking cute. Asajj gets a sweet treatment complete with a chalky cleavage line. Rex and Anakin are pretty boring though. Just for completists I guess.

Wave 6 (October) will include Han Solo in his Hoth bubble-goose, Darth Vader 2.0, Plo Kloon, and (GASP!!!) Grand Moff Tarkin. — I’ve already reserved Tarkin a primo piece of real estate in my cubicle.

Wave 7 (December) will feature Darth Revan and Darth maul 2.0.
