It’s hard to believe that the world has gone a full year without Ronnie James Dio in it.
Alice Cooper: He’s Back (The Man Behind The Mask)
How could I let a Friday the 13th slip by without listening to this song? Sure it’s from one of the lesser Friday movies, but you simply can’t ignore how awesomely amazing this tune is.
Remembering things that half the world forgot is one of my many mutant powers (being able to spot a female nipple in one frame of a movie is another one). Friends contact me at all hours of the night when they get stuck trying to remember something from their child hood, and 90% of the time I have the answer. It’s that fiendish 10% that gets under my skin. Every now and then my brain only shows me a few images of things that I should know instantly. That REEEALLY pisses me off. But I’m a very patient man. I know that if I wait long enough (and drink enough booze) the veil will be lifted and the knowledge will be mine. Today’s “Throwback” took me over 20 damn years, mostly due to a word that will forever haunt me…..PHOTON. Read the rest of this entry »
I know what you’re thinking. “This guy has problems.” Well, if by problems you mean a strong desire to be awesome, then you’re correct. Not many people have the balls to fully embrace something they love to the extent that I do, and that’s a shame. Why wouldn’t you want to absorb might, strength, and power into your daily lives? The Norsemen had the right idea, so grow a pair and live life the Viking way! MARVEL studios has been doing just that, and THOR is all the proof you need. Read the rest of this entry »
ManOwaR: Thor The Powerhead
Since I’ll be going to see THOR on the big screen in a few short hours, there was no other song I could think of to get me pumped enough to slay a few dozen Frost Giants.
By now, most of you know that the jerkface who caused 911 was killed last night. The government would have you believe it was due to a bullet in the brain by a special ops dude. Close. The bullet was actually a 2×4 and the special ops dude was Hacksaw Jim Duggan. HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
I haven’t heard anything about this movie until today. As awesome as this looks, it pains me that they totally ripped off the ranger’s weapon from the Dungeons & Dragons cartoon. I like to think this dude plucked it from the charred remains of Hank then had his way Sheila “the thief”. Read the rest of this entry »
Waiting for the hype of new films to die out is kind of my thing. I stress out enough thinking about how much of my gut is sticking out of the bottom of my t-shirt, so spending two hours in a packed theater with hormone riddled high schoolers and overly excited nerds is something I can do without. Every now and then a film gets released that requires me to dawn my armor and venture forth, but Jennifer’s Body wasn’t one of ‘em. Read the rest of this entry »
It’s been a good 10 years since Tim Burton grabbed the world by the scruff and drove it face-first into a steaming pile of monkey spunk that was his remake of the classic Planet of the Apes. Some have forgiven the dreary director, but I for one have not. Sure, his rendition was closer to the story the original that Apes was based off of. That doesn’t give him the right to do what he did. The stink of Paul Giamatti will never go away, despite the hours of vigorous scrubbing. Read the rest of this entry »
So, as many of my friends are aware, I have been looking forward to the first episode of the new web series, Mortal Kombat: Legacy. First off, I want to say that I have had a total girl-crush on Jeri Ryan for some time (Voyager brought that on, of course), and while I thought that she might be a little too “mature” to be playing a 20-something Sonya Blade, I thought that she filled the role nicely based on the first episode and she’s as beautiful and intense as ever. Michael Jai White fills the role of Jax near perfection. I was ecstatic to see Tahmoh Panikett (Helo in Battlestar Gallactica) as Stryker. I have to say, I wasn’t super impressed with the choice of Kano for an antagonist, and I was equally turned off by Darren Shahlavi’s (Watchmen) acting, but I’m not blaming him, they couldn’t have picked a worse bad guy to start the series. What an uninteresting choice?!?! Read the rest of this entry »
Originally I thought this was just going to be a re-telling of my favorite childhood cartoon. I was bullshit when I thought Lion-O was going to stay looking as a child. But if this is what I think, and it’s taking place well after the T-Cats have crashed on 3rd Earth, I’m going to be one happy Reptilian. This looks amazing.

Find it hard facing Fridays? Despite the glorious weekend that awaits, does your body simply not want to climb out of bed? Fear not, my little snow-flakes. Just toss back an ear-full of Niki & Sarah’s Early Show (via Unregular Radio) while you chisel those eye-boogers away. They’re just the thing you need to help you power through your morning routine while your brain is picturing the many ways you’ll be destroying it over the weekend. Read the rest of this entry »
“DAMN THEE, DIET!”
There is much excitement in the nerd community surrounding the new THOR movie that’s due out soon. As awesome as the trailer is, a “small” problem has been brought to my attention. Turns out the portly powerhouse Volstagg has been poorly cast. I know, I know. How hard could it be to cast a large and in-charge warrior from the halls of Asgard? Harder than you’d think, apparently. Read the rest of this entry »
As you all know, I am quite the fan of the Mortal Kombat series. As the excitement grows for the encroaching release of the game and the new web series directed by Kevin Tancharoen, I find myself with little else on my mind! In fact, I stayed up till 4am last night playing the newly released demo on the PSN with my room mates who have also been obsessed with the MK series for over a decade. The verdict? The only thing that would be more epic than the new Mortal Kombat game would be a viking brandishing a shotgun riding a flying unicorn through space that also craps rainbows (see example below by Sir Mitchell). Limahl – Never Ending Story
As if I wasn’t already feeling quite epic today, this song just amplifies the epicness.
This is not the face of a Batman who is a scared of something scary. No sir! This is the face of a Batman who just had his Bat-brains blown six ways past Sunday thanks to a video game trailer. But not just any video game trailer, mind you. He just finished watching some game-play of the new Arkham City game. Care to have your face make the same reaction? Hit the jump and prepare for some sheer kick-assery. Read the rest of this entry »
I guess ole Cap will be taking a little side-quest to Silent Hill at some point. I’d totally watch that.
While at a pizza party my friend was throwing this past Friday night, someone suggested we watch this video. Being half awake and half in the bag, I wasn’t prepared for the laughing fit that came as a result of this gaseous man of the cloth. My face is still sore from that night.
